Our initial call for proposals is over and our first two season’s publishing is commissoned, but we are leaving submissions open for interested writers.
Revol is a new author-run and oriented publisher dedicated to putting out solid left wing theory.
Our goal is to revive countercultural dreaming, emphasizing quality over edgy content and hot takes, putting out considered yet incisive reflections in a timely manner. We aim to support established writers and discover new talent, prioritizing fair royalties, ongoing dialogue, and an emphasis on quality essays and books that promote formal and theoretical innovation as part of a community.
What we are looking for:
Initially we invite submissions of works forecast to be no longer than 30’000 words in length.
Reinterpretations of critical theory texts, addressing the realities of the 21st Century in light of new mediatic and aesthetic forms, novel approaches to consciouness, the digital economy and workspace, AI, climate disaster and a new cold war.
Bold takes on the Situationist Dérive, psychogeography, the Benjaminian essay-of-place.
Risk taking theory-fiction hybrids.
Calls to action that surmount and supercede the online space, as well as the current limits of academic and political thought.
Considerations of Spirit within the current context. Speculative metaphysics, psychedelia, psychology. Hegelian and materialist ripostes to rampant New Ageism and the clamor for wellbeing.
Translation of recently published Italian language texts fitting one of the above criteria and/or new theorisations of the current Italian situation in English.*
